Company History
Steve and Sharon Weil began working in the towing industry in 1972 as partners with J.D. O’Conner in O’Conner-Weil. O’Conner-Weil started off with three trucks and a “Full Service” gas station. In 1977, the O’Conner-Weil partnership ended, and Steve and Sharon started Weil Wrecker Service. They bought property on Second Avenue South, which was full of rows of shotgun houses at the time. The shotgun houses were torn down, and a shop and office building were built. Weil Wrecker Service operated from that location until January, 2001 when, after 23 years in one location, Weil Wrecker moved eight blocks down the road to its present location.
In 1989, Pro-Tow was added to the Weil family business. Pro-Tow moved to its present location after several years just down the hill. And in 1999, C & W Wrecker Service became a part of Weil and Pro-Tow and moved its operation to Pro-Tow. B & W Wrecker Service’s operation moved downtown when it joined the Weil family businesses.
We hope to continue to grow and develop as we continue to serve the communities around us. We strive to be the best, and we hope you’ll be pleased with our service!
